TAAP Scholarships

“The Houston Chapter of TAAP will offer four scholarships each year.  Scholarships will be awarded to Greater Houston area students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled and attending an accredited school within the previous semester
  • Engaged in studies leading toward Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or licensure in  behavioral health
  • or a current student working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in the Behavioral Health or Substance Use Disorder
  • Employment goals of working directly with population substance or process addictions addiction

The scholarships will each pay $1000 to your institution on behalf of  the awarded student. Each scholarship will include a one-year membership to NAADAC & TAAP.

To be eligible for the scholarship you must complete and submit the application and all the supporting documentation.  Incomplete packets will not be considered.

Individual portfolios containing supporting documentation and completed application forms must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee between January 1st – May 31st for the fall semester and August 1st – October 31st for the spring semester.

To be considered a student must be in good standing and attending an accredited community college, four year college, or university.

LCDC Student has taken at least 2 Substance Use Disorder Classes. Bachelor or Master Degree applicant has taken at least 2 classes in their current education level.

Has maintained a 3.0 GPA
