Kimberly Washington is a Social Worker with the Harris County Public Defender’s Office, a team member dedicated to the holistic approach towards legal representation. Formerly educated through the Vallejo Independent School District of Vallejo California, she acquired her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at Howard University in Washington, DC. In 1998, she earned a Master of Education in Counseling from University of Houston and shortly thereafter became a Licensed Professional Counselor.
As a social worker, Kimberly provides an array of psychosocial services including assessments, consulting, and linkage to educational, employment, medical and mental health resources to indigent clients and their families. Prior to her work with the Public Defender’s Office, Kimberly was a therapist in private practice, a middle school counselor and a clinical supervisor for a local mental health agency. Kimberly believes that it is working closely with persons from various lifestyles as they make positive changes that fuels her passion to help others find their way.

TAAP is part of NAADAC and represents the professional interests of addiction counselors, educators and other addiction-focused health care professionals in Texas. An important part of the healthcare continuum, NAADAC members and its 47 state affiliates work to create healthier individuals, families and communities through prevention, intervention, quality treatment and recovery support.
